I was redirected over here by MS Community since you have a dedicated team: Sharief K replied on January 30, 2014 Microsoft Support Engineer Hi Crysta, We have dedicated support for Windows 8.1Pro Hyper-V. I would suggest you to post your query in TechNet forums for better assistance on this issue. Hope this information helps.
If you have any concerns, please let us know. Hi Folks, About every day or other day the Hypervisor does not start up with the system, since I upgraded the W 8.1 Pro from W 8.0 Pro. Even when I immediately restart the PC, the Hypervisor still doesn't restart. The only way I know to restart the Hypervisor when this occurs is the uninstall Hyper-V in the 'Windows Features', restart, and the reRegister (install) Hyper-V in the 'Windows Features' and restart once again. This is a real pain, if one wants to use Hyper-V frequently. It would appear that something corrupts during shutdown because the Hyper-V works just fine with 3 separate VM's before shutdown. I have yet to find the Driver 'VID' in the Device Manager.
Is this a fixable problem? It never happened in W 8.0 Pro. Is there another way to reset the Hypervisor?
This is like doing Windows Update every day or other day????:( Best Regards, Crysta Update: I finally found the 'VID', Virtual Infurstructure Driver under System. When querying the Driver, 'if it has a problem', it tells me 'false'! I have tried disabling it and reenabling it as well.
When 'Restarting' Hyper-V Virtual Management Service the Events just repeats, that, the Hypervisor is not running!!! Hi, The Virtualization Infrastructure Driver (VID) is the parent partition kernel level interface to the Windows hypervisor using defined API interfaces called hypercalls. The VID provides services to the worker and administrative management interfaces running in user mode and communicates with the Windows hypervisor to coordinate execution of virtual machines.
